With the end of one chapter, lies the beginning of another. Although their ending was indeed tragic, hope once again shone through for the three.
With a groan, the trio of children awoke in a strange place, looking around at themselves first hand. As they were now....Different. Their entire beings changed, all the way down to their hair colors, their outfits were now their favorite Halloween costumes. A witch, a demon, and a skeleton.
"What..Happened?" Shirley asked, then noticed her voice was a much more high-pitched. Luke's eyes widened, "We're so different.." The two looked over at Ben, he was unnerved, and didn't speak a word for around twenty minutes.
When he did, he commented on the two, "You two look like twins, now.." With that they looked at one another, it was indeed true. All the way down to their height, minus the extra height from the witch hat Shock wore. Their facial structures began to mimic one another's. Odd since Shirley had always been older, and a few inches taller, and they used to look so different from one another.
After awhile they accepted their new appearances and their costumes. Drawing their attention to the area surrounding them, and at first, it scared them. As they lie in a small grave, in the largest graveyard that a human would ever see in their lives.
For hours and hours they just sat there, curled together in a terrified ball. Before they finally accepted the new surrounding as well. The three slowly made their ways to the gates of a strange town. When a voice cawed in a flat note, "I wasn't informed we were getting three children. They only told me to expect one." he looked at Luke, "Your name was Luke, is that right? Are these your siblings?"
Luke swallowed hard, were they? All memories of his past life were already growing so fuzzy. But he nodded, afraid of what would happen to them if he didn't. The strange gatekeeper smiled at the tip of his beak, "Well then I suppose they must've come to your aid at the wrong time for them."
Luke frowned, he felt truly awful about that. He didn't want anyone to die....Perhaps that prank wasn't so great after all....What was it going to be again? He couldn't remember, as a matter of fact, he could barely remember his death even!
They watched in shock and horror as the gatekeeper noted the two additional children, "Sorry, we must keep track of who comes in. Can't have any unwanted troublemakers, you know. Now." he gave them a friendly look, leaning down, causing the trio to shiver a bit in fear, "As for your names. Luke, Shirley, Ben. Is this correct?"
They looked frozen in fear for a moment, but slowly nodded in perfect unison. The gatekeeper straightened out a bit more, "Alright. Now, what shall your new names be?"
