I ran to town center to find Jack in the middle of a mob of adoring citizens.
" you make every one of my bone shiver Jack!" The tall witch said.
" No, you make the very moon seem dim!" The shorter one said.
" Moon dim, how about the sun!" Another citizen argued. Soon everyone begun to fight over who's compliment was the best. I took advantage of this and snuck up behind Jack. He began to step back so I did as well. I kept silent until I felt like it was the right time. Jack took a deep breathe in and sighed, it was time.
I said with the sweetest voice I could, "You make every seam on my body leap for joy."
All the sudden, Jack turned around in a jolt.
He blushed when he saw me, "Sally! Um- hi!" He said awkwardly. I could tell he was embarrassed. He looked around and it seemed as if nobody was looking so he continued on, "it's so nice to see you Sally, you have no idea how long they have been at this.
"No, I don't" I answered, not knowing what else to say. There was a long silence until I spoke again, "I can free you from this, come on, I have something to show you.
Jack smiled, "Well then what are you waiting for!" He said just as the Mayor came up to him.
"Jack, there are only 313 days until next Halloween!" The Mayor said in a owrried tone. Jack began to frown, that's right, Christmas was only five days away. He must have lost track of time.
Jack looked at the Mayor, "Thank you for reminding me, I need to spend Christmas with Sally. We all need to take a break and celebrate."
The Mayor started speaking again, "But Jack,"
"Please, just for a couple weeks." Jack said
"Fine Jack, only a couple though."
With that, Jack nudged me, letting me know I could start leading the way. I grabbed his hand and dragged him into the graveyard.
"Woah!" Jack gasped
I giggled at this, I slowed to a walk and rested my head on his shoulder. He held me close, until, I stumbled. A vine tripped me up, I had almost fallen but Jack had caught me from behind. He held his arms around my waist. I looked around and saw my basement.
"Here Jack, this is where I am going to live." I showed him inside.
"Don't you think it's a little small Sally?" Jack said.
"No, its perfect to fit about 3 people without being cramped. Besides Jack, I don't think I will be having anyone except for me."
"You never know," jack smirked, jokingly.
"Can you help me, you know, building rooms and furniture"
"Of course Sally." Jack answered and hugged Sally, "If we are going to celebrate, we better get started now. Why don't you clean all the excess things out, while I go get my tools and some wood."
"Okay Jack, and thank you." I hugged him goodbye.
Meanwhile; Lock, Shock, and Barrell lay on a floor of burnt ashes. Life was just beginning for them, and now it came to a halt. They were starving and more miserable than ever. Something changed in them, all they wanted was to be happy and healthy again.
