This is part of Olivia's entire story. Olivia is Jack's adopted daughter, she was created by Doctor Finklestein for Jack.
This takes place on the night of (obviously) Christmas Eve.
May be continued.
Caution: FEELS ALERT.
Jack kissed her on the head, "I promise I will be back. Now, you stay with Miss Sally and I'll be back before you know it. "
Olivia held out her pinky to him, Jack chuckled and hooked his long bony finger to her's, she then hugged him tightly around his neck, "Please be careful, Papa.." She whispered.
"I will darling." He smoothed her hair behind her ear, "Don't you worry about me."
"Okay... I love you, Papa.." Her voice cracked at the last word, and she felt her throat tighten.
Jack's artificial heart melted, he kissed her head a last time, "I love you too, darling."
Jack then carefully set her down beside Sally and climbed into the sleigh. Olivia held tightly onto Sally's hand and watched her father. She'd never seen him so excited about anything, but she couldn't help but feel uneasy. She still had a glimmer of hope that Jack would change his mind at the last minute, or say that this was all a joke. Olivia played that over and over in her head, bringing her a false sense of security that Jack would be okay.
She must've gotten so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't hear the reindeer and Zero start to take off. She snapped back to reality when the sounds of the crowd broke into her eardrums.
Sally squeezed Olivia's hand, she was frustrated that the fog didn't stop Jack, but she was also mesmerized by his actions. The way he held the reins and the way he smiled at Olivia and her.
Sally felt a tug on her hand, and quickly grabbed Olivia when she saw her little hands reach out to Jack when he took off. She kept her at just a far enough distance that she wouldn't get hurt, but couldn't help feeling awful after for keeping them apart. Her heart almost broke when she heard the hysterical cry of little Olivia as she watched the sleigh disappear into the sky.
Olivia stumbled forward with her eyes to the sky, her fists clenched, and her eyes glossed over with tears. "I don't want you to go..." She whimpered, wishing she could've kept him there.
She was standing in the middle of the square. The citizens around her slowly started to disperse, and the space around her got wider and wider until finally, she and Sally were the only ones left in the square.
Olivia did not move, she stood there and watched the sky as if Jack was going to come back at any moment. Finally, Sally walked over and knelt beside her.
"Olivia? Are you okay?" She asked softly.
"I-I want him to come back.." She whispered.
Sally wiped the tears from Olivia's eyes, "He'll be back." She told her.
Olivia slowly walked over to the tent where Sally had been sewing Jack's suit. Sally stood and watched her carefully as Olivia looked around.
Olivia picked up Jack's bat bowtie off the table and hugged it to herself, needing something familiar to hold onto. After a minute or two, Olivia climbed up on the edge of the fountain and waited. Sally walked over and sat beside her.
So I hope you guys liked it, I'll probably add more if you all like it. IT FEELS GREAT TO BE HOME, LEMMIE TELL YOU. I HAVE MISSED ALL OF YOU.
