This is one of my most recent stories I wanted to share. James went off to live in a new appartment at the age of eighteen and Miss Spider got what is called empty nest syndrome. A letter she found changed things.
Miss Spider woke up at 8 in the morning and was sitting on her large homemade web. Her eyes were weary with tears. The memories she had in mind broke her heart. She tried hard to shut her eyes and to clear her mind from it all but the thoughts kept coming back in mind. Her eyes welled up with tears, as much as she didn't want them to. She sighed as she murmured the name of who matters her the most in the world. "James..."
She heaved a sigh and walked off her web, heading towards the mirror in her room. She looked at her own reflection and noticed how weary her whole face was. Her face was slightly red, her golden eyes were faintly wrinkly from crying and there was no sign of a smile on her face. She hissed as she stared at the mirror. "Why? Why did James have to leave home? Why did he have to get that new apartment? Why did the age of eighteen have to come?"
She turned away from the mirror and walked towards the door. As she tried to grab on the door knob, her hand started to tremble. Her eyes started to well up again and she whimpered slightly. She then closed her eyes to prevent the tears from falling any longer and heaved another sigh. She then grabbed the knob and opened the door. She gasped as she looked down and noticed a small closed white envelope on the floor. She picked up the envelope and opened it. Inside was a small white paper with writing on it and she scrutinized it. Her eyes widened as she read through:
"To my family,
No matter where I go off, I will always remember you.
All we have been through together, the good and the bad.
Our love is inseparable, no matter how many miles apart we are.
We're family, no matter where I go off.
I will go see new things.
I will travel the world.
But that doesn't mean I won't go see you.
I will come back from time to time.
No matter where I go off, we won't truly be apart,
because you are all in my heart.
How could there not be room for you all?
I must tell you I will always love you.
Miss Spider had a gleam in her eyes after she read the letter. She welled up with tears once more, but this time with a smile. Her lips touched the letter, leaving black lipstick on it. She held the letter close to her and didn't want to cease. "I am proud of you James. I will never forget you either. I cannot wait to see you again. I finally understand now why this had to happen and I know I will see you again. I love you my angel."
