What happens when Victor practices his vows in the forrest. Sort of spoilerish. Enjoy!
You May Kiss the Bride
By Kimberley Diaz
Told through Victor's eyes
It was growing dark as I ran out of the Everglots household. I took one look back before decending into the woods.
"I'm sorry Victoria," I said with a sigh. "You deserve better."
As I walked deeper into the woods, I reached into my tailcoat pocket. Out came the golden ring my parents bought just this morning. I stared at it for a while.
"Or do you?"
I inhaled and exhaled deeply. I spotted a nice place under a tree were I could practice. The small roots shooting out from the ground, I imagined to be Victoria's hand. I took my first step.
"With this r-"
I tripped. Three steps! Three steps! I thought to myself. I breathed in and out once more. You can do this Victor. You can do this .
"With this ring..."
Three steps forward.
"I ask you..."
I kneeled to where the roots were.
"...to be mine."
I slid the ring on the root.
I sighed. Well done, I thought. Victoria should be...
Suddenly, I feel as if I'm being brought down. The roots! They were pulling me into the ground! I pulled and pulled as hard as I could, and finally, I broke free from the roots graps.
But as I look at my arm, the roots were clinging. No, it was an arm! A literally bony arm!
I shook it off my arm with a scream. Then, the ground shook so violently, I fell to the ground.
Suddenly, someone or something was popping out of the ground. Whatever it was, it wore a wedding dress. The thing raised it's veil to revial a pretty yet frightning face.
"I do..." she said with a whisper.
She walked toward me. As she did, I ran as far as I could.
"Darling, where are you going?" the woman asked as she followed.
That made me scream. She called me darling , I thought. I ran even faster. Panting and gasping for air. I finally stopped at the bridge. As I got ready to countinue, I saw the church. No, I can't, not yet...
I turned around to find the woman standing right in front of me! I backed a way, but she was faster. She grabbed me around the waist. Her hypnotizing eyes, starring at me.
"You may kiss the bride..." she said with a smile.
She edged closer toward me. I didn't know what to do. Her lips came into contact with mine.
I have never been kissed before, but out of everyone I knew, she was the one I least expected to kiss me. I don't even know this woman!
My world was spinning faster and faster and as she broke away...I fell into darkness...
Hope you enjoyed!
